Shelley Aschliman

graduated with a BA in English Cultural Studies from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec and earned her MA in Education and her Secondary Teaching Credential from Stanford University. She taught at Ceiba College Prep, Watsonville, California, where she had the opportunity to design all of her own curricula and also worked with the Santa Cruz Young Writers Program, a program which brings together students and community volunteers to write and publish student work. She most recently taught high school English in Springdale, Arkansas and worked as a freelance writer for educational websites. She is excited for students to discover how Meemli’s virtual classroom can offer different ways of interacting to bring about new ways of learning.

Susan Tu

has supported hundreds of high school students through the college admissions process as a college counselor with an Educational Talent Search program in San Francisco. Prior to that, she helped develop and coordinate youth writing programs at 826 Valencia. She earned her BA in English and sociology from UC Berkeley and has an MA in Education from Stanford University.

Raja Ashraf

has extensive experience evaluating undergraduate and MBA applications at Stanford University, Stanford Graduate School of Business and UC Berkeley – Haas School of Business. Raja has a M.A. in Education from Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics from Wellesley College. Raja guided our College Essay course development and is currently an independent college admission consultant.

Noël Young

graduated with a BA in English Literature and Language from the University of Southern California. She received her MA in Education and a Secondary English Teaching Credential from Stanford University. She taught all grade levels of English and AVID at Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, CA for nine years, and has had significant experience helping students with college essays. She is excited to be part of the Meemli team because it allows her to engage with students in a creative, innovative way that makes learning fun.

Elicia Blackford

completed a BA in English with a Minor in Spanish at UCLA. She received her Masters in Education and California teaching credential from Stanford University and is currently a high school English teacher in Portland, OR and is very close to the challenges of writing college application essays. Elicia is very excited to use Meemli to help students access concepts and skills that can be difficult to master in the traditional classroom setting.
